Chasing Kasper

For profesional skier Tessa Treadway, life took a massive turn in 2019 when she became a single mother of three. When her husband Dave Treadway passed away in a backcountry skiing accident, she not only lost her other half, but her partner in the grand project of their “free range” family—which had as its goal to raise their kids outside as much as possible. In the wake of Dave’s passing, a mountain bike became the linchpin of her relationship with her oldest son, Kasper.

FLIP THE SWITCH

FLIP THE SWITCH | Featuring Georgia Astle

If you don’t have role models to look up to, it’s harder to progress as a rider. Georgia Astle grew up chasing her older brother. “If he could do it, I could do it” she figured. But that could only take her so far.

As Geo developed as a racer, she learned to push herself. She got comfortable “flipping the switch” and pushing against the clock. But when Geo looked beyond racing, there weren’t a lot of women pushing the limits of freeride. Until all of a sudden, there was.

Watch Georgia Astle explore some of British Columbia’s most striking landscapes, on a search for terrain to push her riding, inspired by a rising tide of female freeriders around the world.

Esperanto

Esperanto

Mixing the rock stars of the sport with a cast of unknown and up-and-coming heroes, the film explores how we share our dreams through a universal two-wheeled language no matter what our native tongue may be. The sacred ritual of the ride might sound different all across the world – whether it’s a full-face getting pulled down to drop into a big jump line or wheeling a beat-up bike out of a mud hut to pedal to school – but it’s a universal process no matter what language we speak.

As we view this visual tapestry featuring next-level riding in unusual locations all across the globe, we hear a voice speaking a language we’ve never heard:

There are more than 7,000 languages spoken on Earth. In 1887 a Polish-Jewish doctor named L.L. Zamenhof created a new one, a universal second language based on a combination of existing widely-spoken European languages. Its goal is to help bring people together from different ideologies, beliefs, and nations and ultimately to help end war. The language was called Esperanto. Translated into English it means ‘one who hopes.’ Today, Esperanto might remain elusive, but the dream of a shared language Spoken Worldwide still flourishes. You just have to know where to look for it.

Walking the Good Path

Walking the Good Path

The film explores the power of passion that drives people towards balance and ful- fillment. Three characters meet: Roman Rohrmoser, a Ski-Freeride professional, Gerald Rosenkranz, a mountain bike and unicycle expert, and Jay Bearhead, a Canadian indigenous, who was forcibly separated from his family as a child. Jays’ cultural identity was taken away from him during his time in residential schools. How- ever, his love for mountain biking provided him with an outlet to process his traumatic experiences. Jays ́ problems resurfaced when he turned to drugs in his youth. He hit rock bottom and ended up as a heroin addict on the streets of Kamloops. Once again, it was his passion that gave him the decisive push to change and become clean. Furthermore, the help of his indigenous community and his reconnected cul- ture played a crucial role in helping him overcome his addiction and stay on the right path. The film is a powerful testament to the transformative power of passion in over- coming adversity. The message of “Walking the Good Path” is clear: finding your passion can lead you towards a more fulfilling life. By pursuing what you love, you can overcome obstacles and find meaning in your journey. Taking that first step on your own good path – who knows where it may lead you?
